Nicolas is a Danish entrepreneur and creative leader whose work sits at the intersection of design, technology, and company building. He began his career in digital design and communication, developing a strong foundation in craft, storytelling, and product thinking long before moving into entrepreneurship.
In 2010, he co-founded Shape, which grew from a small design driven studio into one of the most awarded digital product agencies in the Nordics. Over more than a decade, the work produced through Shape and its related ventures received extensive international recognition across design, technology, and innovation, reflecting a sustained focus on quality, originality, and execution at scale.
As Shape evolved into Framna, a pan European group with studios across multiple countries, Nicolas continued to work across creative leadership, ownership, and governance. Alongside his work in technology, he has been involved in a range of ventures spanning media, consumer brands, and food culture, carrying the same emphasis on long-term thinking, strong culture, and craftsmanship.
I work hands-on with founders and leadership teams across the companies we back at Upright. My work typically spans strategy, product, design, and brand, with a strong focus on early structure and long-term direction. I help translate ambition into clarity, from positioning and go-to-market to shaping digital products that meet high creative and technical standards. Much of my time is spent bridging vision and execution, ensuring that ideas are not just compelling, but built to last.
