We were a decade in the making.

Meet the team.

Upright was established by our founding partners who set out together in 2010, because we strongly believed that there was a better way to build tech companies. More than a decade later we draw from our experience in employing hundreds of people and several succesful exits to help the earnest build companies from idea to business and beyond.

The Upright way

The headline of our shared values refers to an idea that is ingrained in the culture of all our portfolio companies. We once defined “Do Right” as doing everything with a very high degree of integrity, but today the term has a much broader meaning to us. In daily meetings you may hear an employee challenge a suggestion with the question “Is that thing Do Right?”. This usually guides decisions towards long-term solutions that may not be so easy and rewarding in the short term, but in return they make our work seem more meaningful and keep the team dedicated to the mission.

History

One fateful day in April 2010, the four of us sat down for a burger to discuss what it would take to set up a proper app agency in a time where the app industry was in its infancy. Oblivious to the many obstacles ahead of us and with our bellies full, we sketched out our first plan to become the most succesful Danish app company. A decade down the line we had hundreds of employees across several country offices and multiple companies.

Since our humble beginnings we have helped hundreds of organisations all over the world, including large enterprises and emerging startups, increase user growth and retention as well as sales, revenue and the bottom line. That is our yardstick for succes. We practice what we preach by investing resources and time in startups that we are passionate about, and we learn by doing along the way.
